VERY dark blood-red (with a slight cast of chocolate brown)... yet retains a very dynamic and large lighter eyewash (on both petals and sepals). This flower is very unusual, in that it undergoes an actual pigment change during the course of the day. The entire flower appears to have been "smoked", which is amazing to watch
